Neil Gaiman highly praised this in an interview in the New York Times(?); and since it takes place during a time period I really like, I picked it up.
It's 1850, and everyone has the Gold Rush fever. Eli and Charlie Sisters are guns for hire; stalking a man who claims to have found a way to easily find gold. The book follows their journey as they close in on their prey. Thoughtful yet funny yet at times had the same sort of feel as a slightly more modernly written True Grit. No wonder I liked it so much.
