I thought that Krugman lays out a reasoned view on why Keynesian theory needs to be used in the current crisis. What bugs me about the other side (Hayekian, Milton Friedman, Ron Paul etc) is the fact that they have no history or experience to back their theory up. Folks, it doesn't work! The best example is our Conservative Friends over the Pond. How is Austerity working for you Great Britain? The Chicago School of Economics, along with the Austrians needs to be shut down. It's all a bunch of hogwash and has done nothing but destroy our country. Krugman gives a polite and reasoned case, showing examples, scholarship, and research to back up his views. Not only that, he goes back to the last American Depression using example after example during the Great Depression to show what works and what doesn't. The best thing American's can do is to go back to the history books and start reading. Why can't we learn from our history? We are so caught up in our own strange ideologies, when the answers to our current problems can easily be solved in our past.
