16-year-old Blue is the daughter of a psychic, but she doesn’t have powers herself. She doesn’t need them to know that the boys who go to the elite Aglionby School, the Raven Boys, are trouble. And if it wasn’t enough that they’re rich and cocky, being told that she will cause the death of her true love is enough to keep her from dating anyone. But she ends up getting involved with a group of the Raven Boys anyway, and their search for ley lines and a dead Welsh king. I enjoyed their developing relationships; I didn’t like the feeling that extra obstacles were thrown in towards the end in order to make this a series, when it could have concluded gracefully in a single book (though I did enjoy one big twist that I didn’t see coming).
