Imagine finding out as an adult that everything you know about your family is a lie? Days after her father passes away, our gun toting, highly intelligent protagonist receives a letter indicating her real family is in Chicago and not in Texas. Her mother is unavailable to ask since she has dementia. How convient.. And how many books have I read lately that wrote about a mother with dementia? I digress.
Suffice it to say, I had expectations for this novel. They were met. There were a few elements of this novel that I didn't like. However, it was a good read and I will over look them.
