Decided to check this one out - had heard good things. It's a series of seven interconnected novellas centering on Maqroll, the Gaviero ("the lookout"), a sort of wandering existential hero whose primary characteristic is his wanderlust. So far I've made it through two of the novellas and found many a profound insight - Mutis can often write in philosophical epigraphs. I'm putting it down for a bit to give some stuff I've been meaning to read a chance and I'll probably get back to it later in the summer.
