The writing here is pretty exquisite. That said, the whole thing read as somewhat aimless and pretentious to me. It's an homage to Kerouac, and as such, it works, plus there are a lot of interesting and compelling ideas floating around the book, but at the end of the day I just don't like Kerouac and this was never going to work for me. Bottom line, if you don't respond to that style of narrative, this is not your book.
