Read in December, 2008

Bought this as a gift to my own daughter... as well as purchasing a copy for myself. Some excerpts:

Write down your blessing. The ship of my life may or may not be sailing on calm and amiable seas. The challenging days of my existence may or may not be bright and promising. Stormy or sunny days, glorious or lonely nights, I maintain an attitude of gratitude. If I insist on being pessimistic, there is always tomorrow. Today I am blessed.

I am never proud to participate in violence, yet, I know that each of us must care enough for ourselves, that we can be ready and able to come to our own defense when and wherever needed.

Death of friends:

Did I learn to be kinder, to be more patient, and more generous, more loving, more ready to laugh, and more easy to accept honest tears?
If I accept those legacies of my departed beloves, I am able to say, Thank You to them for their love and Thank You to God for their lives.
