I loved the idea of going on a road trip with two barely adult girls with only Kerouac's Dharma Bums as their road map. Kiss the Morning Star reminded me of the time right after college my good bud and I traveled to Quebec City armed only with an atlas but no time piece. (this was pre cell phones) I loved getting caught up in the spirit of adventure and the unpredictable way road trips take shape. I also really liked the way that girls discuss the existence of god and where to find it. It's rare and refreshing to read about two girls grappling with big questions. This beautifully written novel would be a great book for not only those teens struggling with their sexuality but also for anyone who is trying to figure out how to find meaning in their lives.
