Horrific, shocking and tragic, Raddatz recounts the disastrous beginning of the 1st Cavalry Division's April 2004 rotation into Sadr City, when the rebel Sadr led a city of 3 million Shiites to war. Makes the 288 mile trek from Poughkeepsie to Canandaigua go quickly, and it is a solid plank from one time to another. The use of voices by the reader can be annoying, but the human story is electric.
