This was a better endeavor than the last few books. It was still light, but had more of a focus on plot than the last couple of books. I had hoped that Harris had a thrilling endgame in mind for the series, but it is evident that she doesnt. The book winds down many threads and sets us up for a homey "happily forever after" for Sookie that will clearly be threatened and then won by her in the last book.

Because I am not particularly invested in seeing Sookie "end up" with any specific character, I am not as indignant as some about the book's plot regarding Sookie's romantic life. In fact, I thought it was fairly logical as an outcome and true to the characters.

I will read the last book, but think that the time has (more than) come to end a delightful series. It's too bad that the quality has dwindled over time, but I am still fond of the character.
