Many others have said that the book was slow in the beginning. I didn't consider it to be slow, but when the vampire plot came out all of a sudden I was a little taken aback. To be honest I had kind of forgotten that the book was supposed to be about vampires simply because it hadn't been mentioned for a good portion of the book. So I can see why people called it slow in the beginning.

HOWEVER, I thought the story showed an interesting take on vampires that I haven't read about before. I really liked the idea that there is truth in myths and when Cor said we are told to "Write what you know" my brain started whirring and I was wondering "What if they really exist??" Nathan Wrann's writing kept my attention and had me thinking "just one more more..." even when I had other things to do.

Overall, this was a quick read with a good storyline and I will be reading the rest of the series. Nice job!
