This is wonderful Irish storytelling at its most charming, if a bit long. It captures the Irish countryside in all its wetness, greenness, and magic, through the journeys of its young hero and heroine, Pidge and Brigit. The Morrigan is perfectly terrifying, her shenanigans confoundingly mischievous. I started it while I was nannying in Ireland and finished it when I returned home.
