A good account of a period of history when politics was even more annoying than today. No heroes in this story. Ben Franklin's vague idea of impeachment as a subsititute for violent insurrection proved to work. Unfortunately Andrew Johnson's view of post Civil War south prevailed and would last for the next 100 years before the rise of MLK.
