liked it
bookshelves: 2005, language

Favorites (both having to do with dogs!) that have actually become part of my vocabulary:

"pee-mail": the markings and scents dogs sniff on their rounds.

"droodles": the noseprints, paw prints or handprints left on windows by dogs and children.

Amy I remember NPR running a contest waaaay back when for those strips that used to feed computer paper through the printers, and then had to be torn off, and the pages separated from each other. (Geez, there are people on my GR feed who are too young to remember that.) Anyhow, the winner was the word "chit", sent in by an office whose office manager was from south of the border. Whenever she'd see the strips of side paper lying around, she'd say, "Get rid of that chit."
