it was amazing
bookshelves: suspense
Read from August 18 to 19, 2012

Loved so much about this. Great blend of gritty suspense and romance. Often one or the other gets short-changed, but in this one, possibly because the conflict was so closely related to the suspense plot, both aspects were strong.

The sexytimes were very *ahem* satisfying. There is a car scene I suspect I'll be re-reading... But just overall well-balanced, intriguing plot, sympathetic anti-heroine. Super fab secondary romance except that (view spoiler).

I struggled with the voice, which felt somehow flat and I ended up (mentally) reading all of the dialogue in a monotone. I'm sure I'll read this author again, but I'll probably restrict myself to things published after this one and hope the voice works better for me.

edit: Upping the rating one because I can't stop thinking about this book. Y'all all go read this. But no one can have Eric - he's mine!!!
