I won this book from a Goodreads first-reads giveaway.

This is the second book in the Kate Burkholder series that I have read and I just loved it. Kate Burkholder is the chief of police in Painter's Mill, Ohio, a town that is primarily Amish. Kate was born Amish but left for the English life when she was 18. She is called upon by agent John Tomasetti, her sometimes love interest, to investigate a missing child case in the Amish community. During her investigation, she gets a call from home that a young Amish girl, close to her family is reported missing. Can these cases be linked? Linda Castillo weaves a powerful story about horrific crimes in the Amish community and brings up cold cases long forgotten about. The story is gripping and terrifying and leaves you with a cliffhanger that has you craving more!

I really love this series, and having read the 1st and 4th book I am running to read books 2 and 3. Not sure how I haven't read them yet!
