Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman is about a fifteen-year old boy named Shane McDaniel who suffers from a condition which he has no mobility in his legs, eyes, arms, body, head and face. Sheltered from his world, Shane thinks that his own father is planning to kill him. In this warm-hearted story, This story will take you in the perspective of Shane's mind in which he can not speak or move.

In my own opinion, I feel so bad for Shane. It is not his fault he is the way he is. He can't help it. But, by being made fun of constantly by ignorant people, I can see why Shane puts himself down all of the time. However, even though experts say that Shane only has the intelligence of a 4-month old baby, this story shows that he is completely aware of what's happening to him and his own surroundings. Shane is not stupid or retarded. He is amazing! Overall, if I would've rate this book on scale of 1-10, I would give it a 9 because of it's creativity of Trueman's writing, plot and originality.
