This story of a young girl (18) coming to grips with the suicide of her sister seven years earlier is in most respects a captivating read. It has a good balance of family drama and mystery with a fair amount of sex and a wild LSD trip mixed in to keep it interesting. While I found the girl's obsession with her sister's death a bit too much, who am I to say that someone wouldn't react this way, just not anybody I know. When delving into her mind, the author sometimes went a little to deep through multiple layers which left me confused and disinterested, but these times were not enough to detract from the overall enjoyability of the book. When dealing strictly with narrative, Jennifer Egan is an outstanding writer for my taste.
