These introductory book to the world of bugs is sure to fascinate curious young readers while also providing interesting information for adults as well. Each of the six bugs is presented as a large pop-up that stretches across two pages and is accompanied by brief text that describes each critter's preferred food, average life span, and information about the largest and smallest one. Readers will learn more about ladybugs, bees, grasshoppers, spiders, beetles, and cockroaches. [I didn't realize that there are 4,000 species of cockroach, by the way. EWWWW!]The text uses large sizes of fonts and simple vocabulary to make sure readers aren't overwhelmed with too much information. Even the back of the book is designed to lure readers into the book since small replicas of each page are included along with a teaser.
