So it sucks that I finally started to really love this series at the very end. Maybe I guess I was too old for the earlier books when she was a freshmen and sophomore (not that I didn't still enjoy them because I did) but this was the only one that I literally could not put down. This was totally shocking to me because normally when a series gets to be like 10+ books long, I get so bored with it and I'm basically just reading to find out what happens in the end.

I loved the ending (and actually got a little teary eyed at one point), although it still bothered me that Mia was so completely clueless, even I figured everything out before her. But I'm glad that Meg Cabot decided to end the series. I definitely think it was the right time. It wouldn't have been as meaningful to continue these books into college, Mia shouldn't have time to write in her journal in college lol. I guess a part of me wishes that all the books had taken place over the course of just her senior year, but then we wouldn't have seen Mia grow and mature. It probably would have been better to read these when they actually came out because Mia and I would have been basically in the same grades the whole time.

Even if there were some parts that still bugged me, I enjoyed this series and I think young girls would really benefit from reading them. Cabot wasn't afraid to really address some scary issues through Mia that many girls her age are afraid to talk to anyone else about (I know I was, even with my close friends). This series was a great coming of age story and I'm so happy I finally read it.
