Oh my goodness.

This is SO...

creepy?

gruesome?

disturbing?

Yes. Disturbing. Very disturbing book.

Do not be misled by the cover - this is not Gossip Girl with a bit of a Runaways twist. This reminded me more of "24 Hours," an issue included in Preludes and Nocturnes. Which is one of the only true horror graphic novels I've ever read.

There is something rotten in this particular elite private school. Six kids are anxious to attend, but once they get there, they find that it is not the educational utopia they hoped for.

By the end of this first collection, we're no where near understanding WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. It reminds me of Lost in that way. All we really know is that something is truly, completely, wrong.

It felt like something that should be illustrated in a less realistic style, a la Gunnerkrigg Court. All the people are just a little too sexy to mix with so much blood.
