So this was an excellent follow-up to the first book (Divergent). I'm just gonna go ahead and say right now that I like these two books better than The Hunger Games series. They aren't quite as sadistic.

My biggest complaint with this is Tris's penchant for lying. We had repeated incidences where she'd lie to someone - usually Four - and then just expect things to be ok. Shame on Roth for always falling back on this plot device to move her story forward. There would have been other ways to accomplish what she needed to accomplish without all the deceit. Tris is Divergent, not Deceptive. If I'dve been any of her friends and family I'dve been done with her a long time ago, if that's all the more respect she has for them.

So give yourself two or three days and just knock this one out. You aren't gonna want to put it down until you've finished it. And that cliff-hanger...oy!
