I read this book many, many years ago. In high school. Required reading in my English class.

It was good enough to stick in my memory all these years, but I'll admit to having felt a little traumatized, violated for having been forced to read it.

But, I recently read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and that book summary reminded me of this book.

Seriously, I think I'll re-read this at some point to see if I still have the same emotional reaction.

Theresa If you liked The Lottery you need to read The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula Le Guin. It is so good!

Sunny In Wonderland I just read the summary, and it does sound interesting. I found a .txt version of the story, so I'm planning to read it today.
