Would recommend: I guess so

I mean, this is exactly what you think it is: Shopaholic-type antics, but without the compulsive spending. The same poor decision-making in an endearing protagonist, and everything ends up fine at the end. There were some moments when I wanted to strangle Poppy for being so STUPID, but then, at the end, I really wanted to know how things worked out. I think the author did a few neat tricks to get the job done, but I couldn't help but feel like she was writing with a movie adaptation in mind. The scenes would have been right at home starring somebody like Emma Stone, but off the page (or rather, on audio), they seemed completely ridiculous. And yet, I liked it. Shrug.
