Inside Out is the fairly dry and factual autobiography of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. It covers the band's history, from their beginnings in the mid-sixties to their reunion at Live 8 in 2005. Mason describes album recording sessions and tours, including countless anecdotes.

The book gives an interesting insider's view of the much documented splitups with Syd Barret in 1968 and Roger Waters in the eighties. However, it gives no details of the band members' personal lives, except where they intersect with the story of Pink Floyd. For example, Mason doesn't mention his own wedding or children.

Inside Out is very readable and well-structured, and as a big Floyd fan, I enjoyed learning a lot about the band's story that I hadn't heard before.
