Delightful collection of biographies of famous (and semi-famous) literary pseudoyms and the tales behind their creations and uses, from the Brontes to Dominique Aury (The Story of O). Ciuraru deftly finds the telling anecdote, chooses the ideal example, and lays out a succession of "types" who find refuge, release, or even redemption in writing behind a nom de plume. Recommended addition any bibliophile's collection.
