Kyle Muntz Oh yeah, if you're looking for literate SF, I would suggest M John Harrison's Viriconium (which is this amorphous, surrealist/absurdist fantasy series) or especially Gene Wolfe's Book of The New Sun, a longtime favorite of mine. They're very different from George RR Martin but I think they might really appeal to you.
