genre-ish
I read it to see what the big deal was about him -- it's strictly genre. It's not badly written, but other than that it has all the earmarks -- characters are introduced and killed off for the convenience of the moment, the main character has a best friend who is conveniently a trained assassin, the plot is unbelievably convoluted and based on very little. I'm not sure why people like that kind of thing, but they must -- he sells a lot of books.
