I read this when it came out, and re-read it after I got to know Sara on a writer's board. The first-person present tense still rankles me a bit, but she does carry it off consistently. It's just a POV that I think is better suited to short stories rather than entire novels.

The horsey details are great, and I loved the riding flashbacks and scenes, but the soap opera/drama with the parents and the teenager and the romance wore me down. I know, I know, it's fiction, but it got a bit tiresome. Definitely a solid beach read.
