I have read a lot, and I mean a lot, of Titanic-related books and this one by far is the most intimate and engaging. All fact, no fiction, and centered on the human stories of the people who both did and did not survive. Author Brewster bravely uses a contemporary lens to examine the fore-, during- and after-story of many of the passengers and crew, and reminds us the Titanic tragedy was a very human, very personal experience.
