I was quite happy that after the first book, the emphasis on lust was toned down a bit. Not because she and Lord Maccon/Conall start drifting apart, but because they're married and spend frequent and consistent time together, so there are a lot of fade-to-blacks but it's not nearly as annoying as it was in the first book.

Anyway, the second book (unique of the four I've read so far) actually ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, but the third continues it marvelously. Really, the writing of the characters, and especially Alexia, is what makes this series so amazing. It's witty, smart, and filled with tea. Which is the best possible way for any book to be.
