Jon Klein recommended this book, Charlie van derHorst said it was wonderful. I listened to 1/2 of the book on tape and read the second half. Listening to the tape was fantastic, almost like listening to music. The metaphors and observations of the main character were so precise and true. When reading I could follow the details a bit better but it lost a bit of its magic. I did feel that the book wound up a bit farfetched.

I looked up the author. The guy is an MD at Stanford (so he is no slouch of an MD) and writes so beautifully! And writes a best seller that is only peripherally about medicine. That was astounding to me. Some people have unbelievable quantities of talent.
