He has lots of data to show the profound change in American lives since 1960. However I was very disappointed at his lack of solutions to these issues. He doesn't even suggest politically impossible solutions. He does say that the elites need to create a culture that does not praise the behavior that is destructive to a sense of community. He also provides some interesting historical parallels. For example he mentions that failing cultures tend to obsess about appearance and the elites start to look to the lower classes for social behavior and provides historical examples.
