It's about a young foster child (Maggie) who isn't treated very well by other kids or adults at the many schools and homes she has been in.

Eventually, the only people who took her in where her two aunts and uncle Morris. Some say their house is haunted. Maggie can her voices in the house and can't locate where they are coming from. After some time, the voices call for her and she finds where the voices come from.

The voices are from dolls that treat her with respect and expect her to come visit often. There is more the the book, but I don't want to give the rest away.
