I received this book as an advance copy through Goodreads. So to begin with a summary:
The book is about 3 families who live on the east coast in a lake area. While the book does encompass each member of the families, it mainly focuses on three woman. Bella from the Barnaby clan, Natalie, the artist, and Morgan the stay at home mom.
With Bella we see her struggle to figure out what she wants from life and if that will include her boyfriend Aaron and his possible new job. Natalie tends to be a bit of a loner coming from a poor background. Will she find love while housesitting for her aunt, and will her true talent finally be recognized? Morgan struggles with the perfect wife persona she's supposed to give off. She loves her son but isn't happy just caring for him, and her husband is mysteriously distant lately.
The book definitely has romance as a center point for all three main characters. This would be perfect as a light, fun beach read. It took me a while to read it as it didn't completely en capture my attention, but I did enjoy it. I think one of my issues was that sometimes it got a bit wordy. Descriptions and reasons were given for little, everday actions that were taken. I also felt the characters were a bit TOO perfect. The ending was also one of which everything came together just splendidly. While I like an ending that is complete, I also like to have some realism thrown in. I mean how often does the fairy tale ending happen in real life.
Overall I did enjoy the book, and this was the first time I had read the author. Again, if you're on vaca, or live on a beach/lake yourself, I can see this being a PERFECT read with a drink in hand.
