did not like it

This author has a lot of baggage to carry around. Read her author bio before deciding whether to read her books. Strange, very strange.

This book made me feel good about my own life because the characters I read about were so screwed up. This book was a mistake. From reading the book jacket, I was under the impression that it would involve a mother and daughter working together to overcome their past. I hardly expected the middle-aged daughter to smother her mentally ill mother and then deal with her childhood issues in such destructive ways.

A superb work of modern psychology? Perhaps. On the other hand, maybe Sebold should get some therapy.
