This book bridges the gap between Diablo 2 and 3, and serves as a prequel for 3. While it was entertaining, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. The Diablo games are all about killing demons. Constantly killing demons, you are never not killing demons. Your character faces impossible odds and mows down hordes of demonic enemies to finally triumph. The main character in this book however is Deckard Cain, an old man who talks a lot. Sure he's a fun character, but he has a bit of trouble carrying an entire book by himself. There is also a monk who provides the much needed demon slaying, but it is little and far between. The book is a good view into the Diablo universe, but just a tad slow paced.
