I have very mixed feeling with this book. I think for the most part it is a love story about Ben and Lauren with a lot of past drama about them and their families. There was a little suspense/action thrown in at the end. The end of the book was easier I think for me to read. I think for me it was just too much past drama on Ben, Lauren, and all of their family. When you were catching up on their past, the book did not keep my attention and I would put the book down. When it was in the present, it kept me interested to find out what would happen next.

I think for me the book was just not a good fit. But I would read more novels from Patrick Somerville.
