it was amazing
bookshelves: yaya
Read from July 08 to 10, 2012

This book comes with a whirlwind of emotions/reactions- from uncontrollable laughter and undeniable satisfaction to pangs of unwelcome sympathy for certain characters. (The UNs are unintentional and so is my unrequited love for the Vasa Loloa Telesa). The following is a list of emotions/reactions that I can guarantee will surface when deeply immersed in Book 2:
(1) Jump in with a stick to beat the crap out of certain perpetrators
(2) Slap a few dumb and selfish moms
(3) LOL at Simone’s dalashiousness. (e.g. Simone to Leila: You already have a man, so you don’t need to shine too much).
(4) Imagine yourself ten sizes smaller and in a Simone creation or MENA dress
(5) Glower inwardly when Keahi ‘s around (You’ll feel sorry for him, love him, hate him, love him again, then threaten to suggest to the author to kill him off).
(6) Agree with Salamasina and feel slight remorse for Leila
(7) Google the lyrics to the Kit Kat jingle and SMH at Daniel’s ridiculous request (or write yourself in the author’s story-begging Daniel to LEAVE Leila for his own good and your well-being;).
(8) Cry, scream, and/or throw the kindle/hardcopy on the floor with complete and utter consternation on your face over the death of . . . (oh come on, like I’m gonna give it away!).
(9) Cheer on Leila and yell out- “You go girl!” when she embraces the inner goddess who doesn’t need a man who wants her to need him.
(10) Reread the part about Daniel’s tattoos glowing/burning over the water
(11) Wide-eyed at the end, wincing at the thought of Leila being . . . (sorry won’t ruin it), and contemplating the course of Book 3 and how WICKED it’s going to be!
(12) Sigh at the thought of Daniel (and then remind yourself/pretend that you’re happily married to a once-upon-a-time Daniel look-alike- but definitely not act alike!—If the latter were true, heck I wouldn’t bother to read a book!).
(13) Wonder if the author's addicted to Diet Coke!
Bottom line-- a MUST read! It will not disappoint!
