I found this book very helpful in overcoming my tendency to want to be liked and fearing other peoples' opinions. The author examines what we are taught to regard as our "needs" and how we can begin to see others as instruments to manipulate in order to get those needs met. I had never considered that this type of need of others is not really loving, but using them. Read this to learn how to need others less and love them more.
