What it your future was just hanging by a thread? Clare's family has just moved back to her old town of Winston to the haunted house in town. Their huge historical home had a tragic past of murder and betrayal with a touch of magic woven in between. In a past filled with secrets, Clare has been kept back from the reality of her family's curse, but soon the past may just be catching up with the residents on Winston.
Clare has a passion for fashion and while selling her creations Clare finds herself reading the past from the very fabric she am loves to alter. Clare's gift could be the very thing unraveling her. Getting impressions from fabrics has haunted Clair's family for several generations and for that the town has always been wary of her family. When Clair lives back into Winston it is just around the time when years previous several kids have disappeared. Clair's gift reveals an awful truth about this quiet small town that will destroy families that have keep secret truths that would have let other families fears laid to ground.
Sophie Littlefield has raised zombies to terrify us, but in Hanging by a Thread Littlefield reveals to readers the horrors of the everyday human. From special societies to city traditions hanging by a thread reveals a lot about the human perceptions on the world around us and how these self held truths can destroy a person from the inside out and corrupt. Littlefield, fueled by a great variety of characters, slowly divulges the plot thread by thread until the tapestry of story unravels to readers leaving them surprised and at the edge of their seats until the very end. With several plot twists that jump out culminating into a suspenseful conclusion, readers will love Sophie Littlefield's YA debut.
