really liked it

A very descriptive and well researched book, spanning two time frames; current and the 1940's during WW2. Well written and atmospheric, but could have been 80-100 pages shorter with good editing, and the story telling/plot seemed a little out of sync. Good characterisation redeemed the book for me, hence 4stars.
