This was my very first First Reads experience, and I was very excited to receive a free advance reader copy from the publisher.

This was also my first Elin Hiderbrand book, but it certainly won't be my last!

Summerland weaves an excellent story about the lives of the permanent residents of Nantucket. The storyline revolves around an accident involving for the the young people in the community---and the effect on the lives of those around them. Many stories are woven into the main storyline, and they don't give up everything too early in the book.

I found the characters in this novel to be well-developed and capable of making me care about them and about what happens to them. Each exhibits truly human strengths and weaknesses.

I would highly recommend this enjoyable read!

Susan Her books are great, recommend Silver Girl, and Barefoot. All her novels are not typical beach read. They have depth to the characters and meat to them.
