Everyone read Chris's review. It sums it up. It's true that I need more time after finishing this book if I hope to have resolved my piqued interest in the story. But it is such a fascinating story, told so brilliantly, in a style that some might find plebian and not up to their literary standards, but which to me fit its particular setting and story. So even if the lingering questions, are never resolved, i'm still glad for the ride. It's an exhilirating book, making the eight hundred plus pages just fly by. It's been a long time that I've impulsively bought a book at a used bookstore and found one so exhilirating, and i'm glad that it's this book. I'm now looking immensely forward to Barker's other works, even if I have to pay full price.
