Cyd Charisse, CC, Ceece, Cupcake are just some of the nom de plumes of this formerly(?) wild-child, hellion from San Francisco. She's ended up on the doorstep of her stepbrother, Danny who has just broken up with his boyfriend of 10 years, Aaron. CC has just parted ways with her surfer boyfriend, Shrimp. Cupcake is the story of CC finding herself and her way in New York without the love of her life.

She is brassy, sassy, and full of herself, yet she is vunerable, good-hearted, and broken-hearted. She tries to pass the time, all the while missing Shrimp, yet she can't find her path. That's when Shrimp shows up again. This is their story.

When I started reading this, I didn't realize it was Cyd Charisse, #3 and I'd missed out on the first two. Probably would have enjoyed it better if I had read the others. All-in-all, though, a quick, quirky read.
