** spoiler alert ** I read "The Age of Innocence" before reading this book. I may have liked it better if I had not read Edith Wharton's book first.

I found it upseting that the "Dr." considered having sex with his patient as part of her cure. Talk about abusing a position of trust.

I did not care for the ending. Did she really have to kill her husband to get away from him? Was that the only way that she could keep her money? Did Dr. Seth really love her? (I wasn't convinced.) And why would she go away with him if she was planning to leave him? (If that was going to be pay-back for what he did to her - then it was a cold and calculating plan.)
