I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. I enjoy signing up for genres I don't normally read, in this case thriller/suspense. Overall this is a fun, easy read with many twists and turns. Alafair Burke is certainly an accomplished author with a solid skill with words and really understands the legal workings behind cases like this. I can understand why people love this particular genre, although I was not as engaged as a fan of this genre would be.

There was a typo on page 151 where Julia Whitmire is referred to as "Julia Langston." This confused me for quite awhile, as I was wondering if it was just to demonstrate how close she was with the Lanston family. But really, I think it's probably a typo :-)

If you're a fan of suspense novels or of Alafair Burke's previous works, I'm sure you won't be disappointed by this latest novel!
