really liked it
Read from July 26 to August 01, 2012

Was slow going at the beginning but about half way through I really got into it. This was a lot less detectivy than other detective novels I have read - there was less emphasis on the crime and clues and more focus on the story in regards to how the clues were attained. I think Miss Climpson and Miss Murchison are much more skillful sleuths and more amiable than even Lord Peter Whimsey, who merely added everything up and stole all the credit at the end. Much more simple in terms of the crime than perhaps Sayers considered it to be but the simplicity and lack of complicated motives/means was rather refreshing. I'm glad I gave this a try :)
