it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, own, timetravel, fantasy

My favorite Connie Willis book. Time travel plus Victorian England plus humor, parody, and extreme cleverness? Yes, please.

Amusing anecdote: I borrowed this from my friend Heather and tucked it into my laundry basket to read while waiting for the laundry to finish (I was already two-thirds of the way through). Instead, I accidentally washed it. Trust me when I say that this is not a good idea. I spent about a half hour scraping wet paper pulp out of the washer, and even more time collecting what was left out of the dryer. And when I bought my friend a new copy, I bought one for myself, too.

C. At least we know that laundering did not turn it into a Nonsignificant Object :)
