it was amazing

"The Revenge of the Shadow King," is a book filled with fantasy, fiction and non-fiction. Max sumner and his friends form a club called The Grey Griffins. They are noticing that strange things are happening in their small town. Nobody else seems to notice them or see them. Creatures like goblins, fairies and unicorns come alive from a card game that they play. They soon realize that their world is in danger and they need to stop it.

My favorite part is when Max finds the Codex. This is the book that carries all the creatures. When he reads their names, it sets them free and thats when he meets Sprig, a fairy. She stays with him through the whole series and helps and protects him. Max begins to realize that he has been chosen for something big, that it wasn't by chance that he found the book. He slowly unravels the mystery behind the Codex and his role in saving the world.

The authors, Derek Benz and J.S. Lewis, are great descriptive writers. You get pulled into the book and its hard to put it down. The plot is one that extends through all the books in the series. Max and his friends have to save the world from evils that only they can see. It was not difficult to read. If you liked Harry Potter, Lightening Thief, and Spiderwick, then you will love this series. There is never a dull moment. The characters are personable and you find yourself knowing them as if they are real. The fantasy characters are described so well that you can picture them in your mind. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and fantasy.
